Artificial turf doesn’t belong at Hilltop Park in Princeton

Dear editor:

Princeton, New Jersey, of all people, has to be at the forefront to do good things for the planet and for ourselves. Plastic grass doesn’t fit into this category.

The city should not have any plans to install artificial turf in Hilltop Park because of the negative impact on the environment. There is also a protected wetland right next to Hilltop Park.
The idea of tearing up real growing grass and dumping plastic instead is totally terrible – and dangerous for people sliding on it, dangerous for drainage reasons, and generally polluting. I find it totally disgusting that anyone would even consider such a horror.

With best regards,
