The group is using a grant from the North Hawaii Fire Wise Program to clear 600 feet of dry vegetation to reduce the risk of forest fires. The work includes removing dry leaves that have accumulated in hills on Poliahu Alanui.
The work is scheduled for Saturday, June 12, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents are asked to walk slowly through the area for safety reasons.
