Firearms, drugs and stolen landscaping equipment found at Sleepy Hollow man’s home

A Sleepy Hollow resident was arrested Monday after the Kane County Sheriff’s office investigated a theft ring of landscaping equipment, a press release said Tuesday.

21-year-old Pedro Evaristo was arrested after investigators found over 40 suspected stolen items in his home on the 900 block of Willow Lane and attached storage units, police said. Authorities also found multiple firearms, ammunition, a ballistic vest and cocaine in the house, the press release said.

Evaristo has been charged with possession of an automatic firearm by a felon, possession of a ballistic vest by a felon, armed violence, and possession of cocaine, among other charges, the press release said.
