Growth spurt: major landscaping firm acquires Edmonton company
A Calgary-based landscaping company with a large presence in Ottawa pulled the trigger on its second acquisition of the year to further expand its national reach.
Urban Life Solutions announced on Wednesday that it had closed a deal to purchase GrassChopper Landscaping, an Edmonton-based company with 70 employees. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
With over 700 employees serving more than 100 communities in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Quebec, Urban Life Solutions is one of the largest outdoor maintenance companies in the country. The company merged its activities with the P. Munro Group from Ottawa at the end of last year.
“It is very exciting to see our company grow into a national (supplier) position,” said CEO Steve Wheatcroft in a statement.
“As a Canadian company, we are all proud to find a way to bring the best together under one brand with a common goal.”
