Kamsack family man launches excavation and landscaping business
Tony Derwores is the owner and operator of TDX Contracting – a landscaping and excavation company based out of Kamsack. Derwores has over 22 years of industrial equipment experience and knowledge having worked for multiple construction companies in Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
The Derwores family moved to Kamsack in 1992 at the age of 13. With the exception of eight years in Alberta, Derwores has lived in Kamsack ever since. He now has his own family consisting of his spouse and two children.
“What inspired me the most to start with TDX Contracting was my family. It became very difficult to work on the streets and to be away from them. My spouse found that I was home only four percent of the year and gone the rest of the year. We have two daughters and I missed them growing up. “
TDX Contracting provides earthworks, landscaping and general construction services for Kamsack and the surrounding communities. Derwores admits that the new company was risky at first, but in the end he’s happy that he made the leap to starting his own business and having a much better balance in his personal life.
“The most difficult aspect so far would have been the decision to leave a company where I have spent the last 13 years because of the unknown,” said Derwores. “I have a family to support and I couldn’t predict how busy my own business would be.”
Customers are encouraged to contact us ASAP for quotes or booking jobs by sending a message through the TDX Facebook page or calling directly as Derwores is very busy now, strong To provide in-demand services for four seasons, including tree and stump removal, landscaping, gravel bed preparation, ditches and ditches, clearing and cleaning, mulching, fence line clearing, water and sewerage, culverts, post hole preparation, cleaning cattle fences and slides, leveling, drainage , Foundation preparation, material handling and snow removal, to name a few.
As his business grows and word of mouth increases, Derwores is already pleased with his new career path.
“The best part of running my own business is seeing and hearing how happy a customer is after their work. I’ve had some really interesting jobs over the past two months and I’ve enjoyed them all! I’ve mulched on the Riverside Golf Course, cleaned trees all over Madge Lake, and landscaped at Waves Ice Cream & Mini Golf – to name a few. “
Looking ahead, Derwores hopes to build a reputation that supports his personal work ethic.
“I’m a bit of a perfectionist and try to do the best work at a reasonable price. When I started this business, I wanted to make sure it was affordable for everyone. I hope that I can continue to be busy in the future and do high-quality work for our community and the surrounding area. “
