Landscaping crews battling in the summer heat to complete their jobs

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL / KMSS) – In the next few days, the ArkLaTex is preparing for a three-digit heat. For workers in landscaping or construction, the job requires them to be outside in the elements. Sean Mastin, owner of Green Lord’s Lawn Service, said, “The heat is tough on the boys. Everyone needs to stay hydrated.

Before Green Lord starts a project, the team meets to discuss a plan how to cope with the day, especially in the very hot temperatures. Today they are cutting grass and trimming bushes in Towne Oaks South and fixing irrigation systems in Superior Grill. Unfortunately, some members suffered from heat exhaustion. “They came here and gave everything they could. The heat defeated them, ”said Mastin.

In the next few days it is important that everyone take it easy in the heat. If you have to be outside for long periods of time, you need to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks. “We try to make sure everyone is safe. If we’re not hydrated and it’s too hot, we can’t do the job, ”said Mastin.
