Landscaping equipment stolen in Williamsport

Over the weekend, a Bobcat skid steer loader was stolen from JB Landscaping in Williamsport.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pennsylvania – According to JB Landscaping staff, a Bobcat skid steer loader was stolen overnight from its construction site at Gray Fox Rentals on South Reach Road in Williamsport between June 4th and 5th.

“We left the skid steer loader here because we had another job to do and came back a week later to find the machine wasn’t here,” said Jared Brown, owner of JB Landscaping.

“We were at a point where we were done and we don’t usually take all of our tools with us, especially if they are large, so we left the skid steer loader next to the building,” said Kevin Louk, a JB employee Landscaping.

The average price of a new skid steer loader can range from $ 30,000 to $ 60,000.

The landscapers say that most Bobcat skid steer loaders can be activated by a different key made for a similar model.

“We want the machine back. It’s what we use to make money, feed our families, and it’s our livelihood. So they’re not just stealing from us, they’re stealing from our families,” Brown said.

There are tracks from the machine that run around the front of the building to the side of the property that was not landscaped.

The tracks around the building lead to an embankment, and tire tracks can be seen all the way up the embankment to a dirt road behind the rental station. The owner of the landlord says these tracks were only there last week.

“If you drive it up the embankment, you know what you are doing, you have already ridden it before. Because anyone else would roll it down the page, ”Louk said.

Jared Brown told Newswatch 16 that his company is offering a cash reward of $ 2,500 to anyone who has information leading to an arrest and retrieval of the machine. Brown asks you to contact his company directly.
