Elk Grove Village officials scheduled a bid opening on Tuesday, August 3, for two improvement projects around the clock tower and the village square between City Hall and Elk Grove Village Public Library, Veterans Memorial Park and the fountain across from Biesterfield Road dated Town hall .

Mayor Craig Johnson said the around the clock tower landscaping project was needed because the tree roots had grown enough to damage concrete on the edges of the tower. He said trees would be removed and the landscaping renewed. Some statues are also expected to be moved to the adjacent Village Green, Johnson said.

Work on the fountain is planned across the street in Veterans Memorial Park, as well as changes to the military badges on the fountain and work on an adjacent parking lot.

Johnson hopes work on the project will begin shortly after the bid opens in August. The construction management team comes from Nicholas & Associates.
