Landscaping truck driver on drugs at time of crash that killed three | News
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) – Metro police arrested and charged the driver of a landscaping truck after three of his employees were killed in an accident on March 11.
In a fatal crash, several lanes on Interstate 40 East just after Charlotte Pike in West Nashville were closed on Thursday evening.
Guillermo Montalvo-Lopez is charged with three cases of vehicle homicide by poisoning, possession of crime and driving without a license.
Blood was drawn the night of the crash and police say Lopez had methamphetamine, oxycodone, ketamine and ephedrine on his system. The police also found a folded dollar bill with a powdery substance on it.
Montalvo-Lopez was released from Vanderbilt on Friday and is currently in Metro Prison with a $ 81,000 bond.
