Emmy-nominated artist, writer, activist and musician Laura Jane Grace (Against Me !, The Devouring Mothers) is proud and honored to announce her most prestigious gig of 2021. Grace will perform a full solo set on Saturday, August 21st at the now famous Four Seasons Total Landscaping in Philadelphia, PA. In her most famous appearance of the year, the upcoming show will also feature Brendan Kelly of The Lawrence Arms. Tickets to the show for all ages will be available for purchase today, Thursday, July 8th at 12:00 PM EST HERE with exclusive t-shirts HERE.

Additionally, Grace recently announced a series of fall and winter gigs. As part of the 2021 Punk Rock Bowling Festival in Las Vegas, NV on Saturday September 25th, Grace will also support Thursday on the US East Coast from December 27th to 30th. Tickets are available now, and a full list of dates can be found below.

In the 14 songs that make up Stay Alive, Laura Jane Grace takes all of her pent-up fears, anger and anxiety and lets go of them, like an olive branch to those tired listeners who feel just like that. The songs are documents of a time and a songwriter who has gained enough experience to find ease in the simple act of work. Recorded with nothing more than an acoustic guitar, an occasional drum machine and her own powerful voice, Grace’s unmistakable songwriting signature takes center stage. Grace had no plans to record a solo record in 2020. In fact, she planned to make a record with Against Me! take up the band she has been the frontrunner for 23 years But obviously nothing went according to plan this year. “We came home from the Against Me! Tour that we were on in March and just before we left we had been working on songs in the studio and I had been working on them months before,” says Grace. When she sat at home, all of her tours were canceled and the members of Against Me! – as well as her other band Laura Jane Grace & The Devouring Mothers – spread all over the country, she had a bunch of songs and no band left to record.

“I sat around a house for a month and a half and was just shocked and thought, ‘What the hell happened and what the hell happened to the world?’ As I started to orient myself I realized that waiting would destroy the record and the songs. I worked on all of these songs for two years and the idea of throwing them away didn’t go well with me, ”says Grace. “But then I thought, ‘What am I waiting for?’ I just have to adjust my scope. I can sit on my ass here and do nothing or I can work. “

So Grace got to work. She picked up the phone and booked four days with Steve Albini and Electrical Audio to record these songs exactly as she’d played them at home, straight to analog tape. The result of the session is Stay Alive, a record that not only embodies this title, but also serves as a guideline for your creations. But it has also revitalized an industry devastated by venue closings, canceled tours, and late records.

Based on a message of work, struggle, and reaffirmed commitments, Grace wants to convey that these feelings are utterly universal in this difficult year. 2020 frustrations, roadblocks and world events aside, at the end of it all, Grace made this album just for herself. “I just want to put this out because it makes me feel alive and it gives me something better than sitting here and losing my mind while the world is falling apart,” she says. “It doesn’t matter what others think of what you’re doing. Just stay alive.” Laura Jane Grace will be making the following appearances this fall and winter. Dates below, others will follow shortly.
