Man digs up and steals store’s landscaping during power outage – The Oakland Press

Bloomfield Township police say an unidentified man allegedly took advantage of a power outage to dig up and steal a flowering plant from the landscape of a shop.

Police said an employee of the Costco store at S. Telegraph Rd. 2343 reported that a black man was seen removing the plant on August 11 while the store was without power. He brought a shovel to remove the plant and then drove it off in a 2021 Chevrolet Blazer.

As part of the investigation, the police are checking the footage from the store’s surveillance cameras. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248-433-7755.
