Man in critical condition after being struck by landscaping truck in Waltham – Boston News, Weather, Sports

WALTHAM, MASS. (WHDH) – A man is in critical condition after being hit by a landscaping truck in Waltham on Wednesday morning.

Officials responding to a report of an accident involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Bacon and Main Streets just before 7 a.m. found William Clark, 63, of Watertown, who was seriously injured, according to the Waltham Police Department.

Police say Clark was hit stepping from the curb onto the zebra crossing as the truck drove through the intersection.

The Rev. Rebecca Sheble Hall, who shared a photo of Clark, says everyone loves their great sense of humor.

“He’s just loved in our church. He’s always so generous with everyone, ”said Sheble.

The driver stayed at the scene and no charges were made at the time, police said.

A woman who lives nearby says she tried to comfort the driver, who was disturbed after the accident.

“He was crying. He said,” I can’t believe I hit him, I can’t believe I hit him, “the woman recalled.

The incident is being investigated further.
