Marietta installing new landscaping on city streets this week | News
Drivers in Marietta may notice some new trees, shrubs, and flowers planted on Whitlock Avenue as well as Sawyer and Allgood Streets next week.
The city of Marietta is installing landscape improvements at both locations this week and is continuing its gateway beautification projects.
These projects are financed by sales tax money. The Whitlock Gateway Improvement Project consists of the installation of landscape improvements in the median values along Whitlock Avenue near Marietta High School which continues west of Manning Road intersection. The same landscape improvements will be made at the intersection of Sawyer Road and Allgood Road.
The work does not require the lanes to be closed and, according to the city, is expected to take about a week.
