MGC Presents “Landscaping with Colorful Native Plants”
Visit the Maplewood Garden Club on Monday, September 13th at 7:30 a.m. when Dr. Randi Eckel looks at the fantastic variety of native plants that can beautify and enhance our gardens, meadows and forests. Proper plant choices can both beautify and greatly enhance the natural environment, and Randi shows us how to use native plants in landscaping to elevate our gardens to a higher purpose. Your presentation will be followed by a short business meeting and will conclude with a live question-and-answer session.
Randi Eckel has worked with native plants for more than 35 years and founded Toadshade Wildflower Farm (www.toadshade.com) mail order nursery in 1996 to promote public awareness and availability of native plants. A lifelong naturalist, nature lover, entomologist, and confirmed plant and ecology nerd, Randi specializes in the interactions between plants and other living things. Known for her lively and exciting lectures and workshops on the cultivation and propagation of native plants, she offers interesting, nuanced information on the complex issues that native plants and native plant communities face.
Details of the meetings can be found on the MGC website, www.maplewoodgardenclub.org.
