Multi-sports artificial turf ground comes up in East Nagpur
From Aman Jain:
A NEW multisport facility – FOICER – has been created in East Nagpur. According to the property’s owners, it has one of the largest artificial turf areas in the city. The FIFA-certified CC + artificial turf (55 mm thick) is also suitable for football, cricket, volleyball and rugby. Players of these sports can also use the facility with floodlights. Raja Ram Goyal, a Dal mill owner, is the brain behind this new sports facility. He owns over 6,000 square feet of vacant land next to his mill. Since Goyal didn’t have much to do due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he considered building a sports facility in the country. “Given the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, I had no routine work. During this free time I came up with the idea of using part of my land to offer the citizens a well-equipped artificial turf pitch. In South India and Mumbai I have come across various reasons with this type of artificial turf. I thought there should be a similar facility for our people to play sports, have fun with family and friends and have a good time, ”Goyal told The Hitavada.
The best part of the project is that Goyal finished it in just 45 days of the idea. The FOICER arena on Bhandara Road next to the Mehta gasoline pump in the Pritam complex was recently inaugurated. Goyal claimed his facility was the second in town and the largest artificial turf pitch for soccer, volleyball, cricket and rugby. “The FOICER site is built on 6500 square meters and costs Rs 32 lakh. It has over 40 floodlights. It has 55mm FIFA certified CC + artificial turf and a huge net along the border where different sports can be practiced. The length of the floor is 90 feet and the width 70 feet, ”Goyal informed this scribe. “We got the artificial turf from Mumbai. One of the main advantages of this soil is that weather conditions do not play a major role. We have an efficient drainage system in place, and rainwater can be disposed of quickly without disrupting or delaying the game, ”said the Septuagenarian.
When asked about the main purpose of FOICER, Ashish Goyal (son) who manages the floor and its bookings said, “Currently, FOICER is a place for fun and some sporting activities that people cannot come to because of the day office or business and relax. “We offer the citizen a good opportunity. Most of the equipment such as bats, balls, stumps, soccer, etc. is provided by us. Two teams with 10-15 members each can play. We are receiving pre-reservations for the ground prior to the inauguration, but due to bans and restrictions on the sport, we do not currently allow any club or group to play here. “The arena’s novel name was the brainchild of the trio of Khushi Goyal, Harsh Goyal and Vasupradha Agrawal, who derived it by taking two words each from names of three sports – FO comes from FOotball, IC from crICket and ER from SoccER. Regarding the fees paid by users, Ashish said, “The fees for the floor range from Rs 900 to Rs 1300 per hour depending on the time slot. The fee structure is divided into three parts: Rs 1000 per hour is charged in the morning session (6am to 12pm), Rs 900 from 12pm to 4pm and Rs 1300 from 4pm to 12pm. You can book the place in advance or just enter depending on availability. “
