Pittsburg Landscaping Contractor Found Dead at Job Site In Marin County; Employee Confesses

A 42-year-old Pittsburgh man who works for a landscaping company was found dead on a construction site in San Rafael on Wednesday, the day after he was reported missing.

David Nunez Sanchez reportedly never came home Tuesday after work and could not be reached by his family, who immediately reported him missing. As reported by Bay City News, Nunez Sanchez had been directing a crew at a construction site at an apartment complex on North Avenue in San Rafael on Tuesday and he was reported missing to the Pittsburgh police that evening.

A worker returned to the site on Wednesday to find Nunez Sanchez’s truck locked and still inside with his cell phone and his uneaten lunch.

San Rafael police became involved and after searching the area they found Nunez Sanchez’s body buried under a brush and branches.

The San Rafael police then sent detectives to Pittsburg to interview the three other workers who were on the site on Tuesday. According to police, 33-year-old Miguel Jimenez Alejandre from Bay Point confessed to killing Nunez Sanchez.

The motive for the crime has not yet been given and the police are continuing to investigate. The nature of death was also not revealed.

Alejandre was admitted to Marin County Jail on Wednesday on suspicion of murder. Anyone with information on the case is encouraged to call the San Rafael Police Department at (415) 485-3000 or submit a tip online at http://www.srpd.org/tips.
