At a one-time price of $ 149.95, Realtime Landscaping Pro is an inexpensive mid-range option for professional designers, although it can be pricey for home users.

Idea Spectrum also offers two similar products for different market areas. Realtime Landscaping Plus is the cheapest option at $ 99.95. It contains fewer design elements and no water landscapes, which makes it a suitable entry-level software for landscaping.

Realtime Landscaping Architect is Idea Spectrum’s most advanced software designed for high-end professionals. It costs $ 399.95 and comes with CAD drawing tools, more design objects, and additional advanced features.

Realtime Landscaping Pro uses advanced 3D graphics to bring detailed visualizations of outdoor landscapes to life with realistic lighting, shadows, movement and other effects. It has options for creating decks, patios, water features, driveways, and more. It also comes with a library with over 12,000 items including 5,700 plants. Around 660 of these plants even show realistic growth, seasonal changes and animated wind movements during the videos.

This software allows you to visit a pre-built house, create one from scratch, or import a digital photo. You can also add 3D characters that will be animated during videos or walkthroughs. The realistic 3D graphics and the multitude of customizable options are an outstanding feature of this software. Note, however, that you can only model the exteriors of houses or structures.

If you’re a home user who wants to create visuals to show off to a contractor, the software lets you create designs with precisely scaled dimensions and placements in relation to your home and landscape. These can then be printed out to scale.

If you are a professional designer, the software allows you to create video walkthroughs for clients that will bring your design ideas to life.

You can use Realtime Landscaping Pro to estimate the cost of your landscaping project. You can use the project material list function to enter the prices for various objects; The list will then update automatically as you design your landscape. When you’re done, you can simply print the list or export it to Excel.

Interface and in action

Realtime Landscaping Pro has a sleek, intuitive user interface that is easy to navigate for beginners, with clear icons and tabs. It is accessible to those who have no prior knowledge of landscaping or CAD.

Selecting, placing and scaling objects is relatively easy and usually involves a drag-and-drop function. There’s also an undo button in case you make a mistake. To place a house or patio, you can choose from a number of pre-existing templates, or you can easily create your own by drawing the outline of the structure. The ability to toggle between a bird’s eye view and a 3D view of the design is also a useful feature of the user interface.

While the basic functions of the software are beginner-friendly, there is a learning curve for some of the more advanced tools.

The competition

VizTerra, developed by Structure Studios, is a high-end alternative to Realtime Landscaping Pro with comparable 3D visualization graphics and some additional functions, including the ability to access GIS-surveyed terrain data. However, at $ 97 a month, it’s a bit more expensive. Water features would also require upgrading to a more expensive plan.

One of the biggest drawbacks to Realtime Landscaping Pro is that it isn’t currently available on the Mac. A viable alternative is therefore Architect 3D from Avanquest. Their professional package is $ 152 for Mac users and $ 90 for Windows users.

The good thing about this software is that it also offers interior design options. However, when compared to Realtime Landscaping Pro, Architect 3D has a smaller library of outdoor objects and plants, and it lacks some of the more advanced features of Realtime Landscaping Pro, such as: B. Project Cost Estimates.

Final verdict

Realtime Landscaping Pro is one of the best landscaping products on the market right now. For its price, it’s an inexpensive option for professional landscape architects, although it can be pricey for home users who don’t need as many advanced features.

The main disadvantage is that the software is only available on Windows and therefore is inaccessible to Mac users. Additionally, there is a learning curve for the more advanced features, although Idea Spectrum’s Youtube tutorials will provide good assistance for those struggling.

Overall, we can warmly recommend this software. With its beautiful 3D graphics, a large collection of objects and plants, and useful presentation tools, it offers an all-in-one solution for anyone looking to breathe life into their landscape designs.
